Retailers also benefit by offering a comprehensive program designed to cover failures due to defects and wear and tear with a quick and efficient claim process.
SSP offers long-established solutions supported by a wide range of products:
Extended Vehicle Coverage: For most new and late-model used vehicle customers (still within 3 year/36,000 manufacturer’s bumper to bumper warranty). Saturn Extended Vehicle Coverage, our premium service contract coverage, is designed to complement the Saturn New Vehicle Limited Warranty. Extended Vehicle Coverage is a comprehensive program that covers virtually the entire vehicle, except those parts specifically listed as not covered, unless required in connection with a repair of a covered part. Extended Vehicle Coverage is available on new vehicles at time of vehicle purchase or anytime within the 3 year/36,000 mile (3/36) bumper to bumper portion of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
Extended Powertrain Coverage: For customers wanting basic protection for late-model vehicles available for 2006 and prior model year Saturn vehicles only. (Still within manufacturer’s warranty.) Saturn Extended Powertrain Coverage covers specific engine, transaxle and front-wheel/all-wheel drive components. Extended Powertrain Coverage is also available on new vehicles at the time of vehicle purchase or anytime within the 3/36 bumper to bumper portion of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty timeframe.
Car Care: May be purchased by most new vehicle customers. Saturn Car Care coverage provides maintenance protection and extensive mechanical protection on plans greater than 3/36 for Saturn vehicles. Mechanical is identical to Extended Vehicle Coverage, detailed above, plus all scheduled maintenance prescribed in the Saturn maintenance schedule. Car Care may be purchased anytime within 6 months of the vehicle’s original in-service date or before the 2nd scheduled oil change, whichever comes first.
Basic Care: Maintenance convenience for your customers. Provides essential maintenance required for most customers. Coverage includes routine oil changes, oil filter replacement and tire rotations. If purchased within 3 months and 3,000 miles from the vehicle’s original in-service date, the plan start date will be the original in service date and zero miles. If purchased after 3 months and 3,000 miles from the vehicle’s original in-service date, the plan start date will be the used vehicle purchase date and odometer miles at the time of sale. Basic Care may be purchased anytime within 5 model years and 60,000 miles.
Oil Care: Fixed number of oil changes and filter replacements. Oil Care provides a specific number of basic maintenance services (2, 4, 6, 8 or 10). Services must be used within 4 years of purchase date. The plan start date will be the plan purchase date. Oil Care may be purchased anytime within 5 model years and 60,000 miles.
Certified PreOwned Program: Extended Vehicle Coverage is offered on used vehicles sold by the Saturn retailer that have been through the 117 point used vehicle inspection process and are being marketed as Certified PreOwned. The specially designed Saturn Service Plan upgrades complement the 5 year/100,000 mile (5/100) Powertrain Limited Warranty that is standard on all Saturn Certified PreOwned Vehicles. “Bumper to Bumper” like coverage encompasses virtually every component other then normal maintenance and physical damage repairs.
Non-Certified Used Saturn Vehicle Programs: Extended Custom Coverage is offered on vehicles sold by the Saturn retailer that have not been certified. Extended Custom Coverage covers the cost of mechanical repairs to the following ten major components: engine, fuel delivery components, steering, transaxle, front suspension, front-wheel drive, all-wheel drive, brakes, vehicle manufacturer installed air conditioning and electrical components.
Extended Powertrain Coverage is another plan option available for used 2006 and prior model year Saturn vehicles sold by the Saturn retailer. Extended Powertrain Coverage covers the cost of mechanical repairs to specific engine, fuel delivery components, transaxle and front-wheel/all-wheel drive components.
