Is "paintless dent removal (or repair)" known as "PDR" used in the estimating of repair work?
Yes. PDR is an effective way to repair some damage. It is utilized in the estimating and repairing of damaged covered vehicles.
Is there a discount or a deductible affect if PDR is used?
No. Not all damage can be repaired by PDR. In many cases, such as with hail damage, a part of a car can be repaired by PDR while other parts cannot be repaired by PDR. The savings incurred by the use of PDR is reflected in the reduction of the cost of the loss. Since rates are determined in part by loss experience, keeping the cost of losses down reduces the need for additional rate.
In the case of a catastrophic loss such as hail or flood, are estimates based on a "sampling" or averaging of damaged vehicles?
No. An individual estimate is completed on every vehicle that was damaged in a loss.
